Great Women on Great British Menu 2020

We are delighted that Great British Menu (GBM) is returning to our screens on 18th March 2020 for series 15. The BBC Two show puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. At Women in the Food Industry we were pleased to see women making up a quarter of the chefs from across Britain who will be competing to serve their dish at the final banquet.  This year GBM has been re-vamped again with more dishes, more chefs and a new presenter.

Winners of The Caroline Walker Trust Awards 2019

The Caroline Walker Trust Awards showcase the passion, courage and conviction of those who work to improve the quality of our food and nation’s health. The winners of the 2019 awards were announced on 12th November and we were delighted to see so many innovative women amongst the nominees, many of whom are challenging the status quo in the field of nutrition and public health.

In the ninth of our series of Female Food Founders interviews we turn again to  education and training.  We met Catherine Farhina Founder of The Chefs’ Forum – an organisation that brings together leading chefs, colleges and food trade suppliers in the UK and beyond.  She also set up The Chefs’ Forum Educational Foundation to raise funds for young people in the hospitality industry. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, chatted with Catherine  about how she got into the hospitality business, the importance of developing young chefs and her food inspirations in the industry.
