Here are the women chefs you’ll be seeing more of on BBC One from 8th November 2021 until Christmas as MasterChef The Professionals returns to our screens for its 14th series.

We had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with Olivia Burt, Sous Chef at Claridge’s, who is competing in MasterChef The Professionals on BBC2.  Olivia was also the only female chef to make the finals of the Roux Scholarship.  Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, recently spoke to Olivia about her experience on MasterChef The Professionals and what it’s like cooking on a national TV show.

BBC Two’s MasterChef: The Professionals is returning for its 13th series and once again looking for chefs with the talent and ambition to make it to the top of their industry.

Women in the Food Industry & The Chefs Forum are hosting a lunch at City Restaurant, City of Bristol College prepared by leading local chefs and students. Showcasing the finest Aussie beef, thanks to Aussie Beef Mates you can enjoy a menu prepared by: Kasae Fraser (MasterChef The Professionals 2024 Finalist, Charlotte Vincent (National Chef of the Year Finalist 2024 and Great British Menu contestant) Caley Briddick (Freelance Chef) Brinda Bungaroo (Brinda’s Mauritius Delights) and  Lucy Bowden (Freelance Chef).

We got the chance to speak to chef Luciana Berry about her experiences championing Brazilian food, cooking for Prince Edward, braving the critics and what happened after MasterChef The Professionals. Our friend James Haywood from OpenKitchen made part of our interview into a short podcast  where you can exclusively hear Luciana’s views on how she has found being a woman in the food industry.

There are three female chefs competing in the Roux Scholarship regional finals in 2024, all of whom are new to the competition. They are: Evelina Stripeikyte, Megan Montibert and Rebecca Tough. Discover more about them ahead of the regional finals.

Great British Menu (GBM) returned to our screens on January 23rd for season 19. The BBC2 show puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. At Women in the Food Industry we are continuing our series of interviews with the strong female line-up of chefs from across Britain competing to serve their dish at the final banquet. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, interviewed Louisa Ellis who runs her own private dining and events business Chef Louisa Ellis.

The first UK edition of Casa Brasil, a fortnight long festival will launch in London’s Covent Garden from 25th August 2022. Luciana Berry, has curated the food and drink for the event and we attended a press night to find out more. 

At Women in the Food Industry we are interviewing the strong female line-up of chefs from across Britain competing to serve their dish at the final Great British Menu banquet. For the first time in Great British Menu’s history there is an all female line up of chefs.
