The British Library Food Season 2024 Events featuring Women In The Food Industry

The British Library Food Season are in the 6th year of their highly popular talks on food, all inspired by their extensive food-related collections.  Many of the events feature prominent women in the food industry. The events started in  April and run until early June 2024. We highlight some of our favourites of over “the BIG Weekend” – a two-day celebration of food through words, sounds, cultures, ideas and tastings running 25th and 26th May 2024.

Interview with Sally Abé representing the Central region on Great British Menu 2020 – Women In the Food Industry

Great British Menu (GBM) returns to our screens on 18th March 2020 for series 15. The BBC Two show puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. At Women in the Food Industry we are interviewing the strong female line-up of chefs from across Britain competing to serve their dish at the final banquet. To kick start the series, our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, interviewed Sally Abé, Head Chef of The Harwood Arms, London’s only Michelin starred pub. Originally from Mansfield,  Nottingham, Sally is representing the Central region.

Female Food Founders – Interview with Juliet Barratt Co-Founder of Grenade

In the second our series of Female Food Founders we meet the co-founder of Grenade. The company’s products, including their famous Carb Killa bars, are sold to over 80 countries. Grenade was sold for £72m to Lion Capital in 2017 and is growing strongly.  Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, chatted with Juliet Barratt co-founder of Grenade about trends, tanks and taking a stand.
