We’re delighted to welcome an impressive all-female panel of marketers, chefs, cook book writers and leaders to discuss what social media strategies have proven successful for their hospitality, food and drink brands. While we know no one size fits all, the discussion aims to guide you and help you judge what is right for YOUR business.

Susan Zwinkels is Marketing Director at Kitch, an award-winning social agency with a well-earned reputation for growing thriving communities online. Kitch’s clients are made up of premium food, drink and hospitality brands including Young’s Pubs, Ole & Steen and Panasonic Kitchen. Female-founded and led, Kitch is thrilled to mark International Women’s Day by co-hosting this event with Women in the Food Industry.

Mex Ibrahim is co-founder of Women in the Food Industry. After almost 8 years as Head of Social Media & Marketing of the UK’s fastest growing food website, Great British Chefs, Mex has delivered a variety of award-winning digital marketing campaigns & now runs her own freelance social media, content creation & digital strategy business. Passionate about women’s equality & female empowerment, she co-founded Women in the Food Industry in April 2019 which became a Community Interest Company in July 2023.

Carmen O’Neal is a cocktail expert, founder of 58 and CO Distillery and TV personality known for her award-winning spirits, sustainable practices and championing female-led businesses. As well as being a Saturday Kitchen regular, Carmen is making waves in the industry as a cocktail and spirits expert, whilst championing sustainability – 58 and CO is the UK’s first female founded alcohol brand to be awarded B Corp status.

Sarah Vachon is an olive oil sommelier and founder of Citizens of Soil, the olive club club and refill brand with award-winning extra virgin olive oils from women who practice regenerative agriculture. Her background is in food & drink as well as sustainability. She made the Telegraph + NatWest “Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs To Watch” and is a member of Women in Olive Oil, a global network which empowers education and advancement of women in the industry.

Nisha Parmar – In 2018, Nisha was crowned semi finalist of MasterChef UK. From there, her life changed forever. Nisha left her corporate banking career and dived head first into the world of professional cooking — and she hasn’t looked back. Since then, Nisha has gathered a large online following, built a glamorous book of celebrity clientele and March 2024 sees the launch of her debut cookbook – SHARE – Asian Inspired Dinner Party Dishes.

Ruth Carpenter has been Head of Marketing for Pizza Pilgrims for 2 years and has had the pleasure to work with brands such as Dishoom, KERB+ and D&D London. Formerly a sculptor, Ruth loves leading on creative projects as well as exploring new opportunities to update their tech stack. The brand’s mission is to make people happier one pizza at a time, and this spirit runs through everything they do!

Edwina Low – Marketing Manager at Deep Blue Restaurants Ltd – The largest fish & chips chain in the United Kingdom, comprising of Deep Blue Restaurants, Harry Ramsden’s and 149.
