Good news story: Award-winning baker keeps baking to feed her local community

Felicity Durwyn owns an award winning bakery, Filbert’s Bakery, in Lancaster. Her commitment to her community and baking delicious bread is second to none. She’s baking and staying open during the COVID-19 to feed her local community.

That’s why good bread is at the heart of what they do.

Fil says “Currently we are baking from Wednesday to Saturday. We have plenty of flour; Shipton Mill are all systems go. We’ve moved the counter so we can serve bread and keep the people ‘contact’ to the minimum, to keep us all as safe as possible. One last thought, in tough times, community helps us through, and we are at the heart of our community and we can’t imagine doing anything more gratifying than baking bread.”
