Better Hospitality Conference 2024 (18th – 19th March)
The Better Hospitality Conference is a free two day event 18-19th March 2024, discussing key questions for hospitality and sharing knowledge across people, sustainability, resilience and nutrition.
Our co-founder Mex Ibrahim is speaking at The Better Hospitality Conference on 19th March (the second day of the two day conference) at 11:30am-12:30pm on the following panel “Do we need to do more to address media portrayals of gender roles in hospitality?”
The way gender is portrayed within hospitality by the media can have a major impact on how future candidates perceive career paths in hospitality and how teams behave in reality. This directly affects the candidate pool hospitality operators can draw from and the wellbeing of their existing teams. Yet it can seem like, as operators, we don’t have much control over this media perception. Is this true? How could we influence it? And how important is it that we do?
Mex will be joined on the panel by Kate Howell communications advisor and Non Executive Director, specialising in food, communities and markets, Emily Kanders Goldfischer, Founder & Editor in Chief of hertelier and Tim Andrews of the Talking Hospitality Podcast.
The Better Hospitality Conference 18th – 19th March 2024
Bringing together chefs, farmers, researchers, hospitality owners, procurement directors, and HR directors, visitors to the conference will take part in discussions around key issues facing the hospitality industry today as well as some innovative solutions to dealing them.
The Better Hospitality Conference will include hands-on sessions by more than 20 speakers from across the food and hospitality industries, as well as networking opportunities over drinks. Tea and coffee will be served 9-9:30am with drinks in the wine club from 5pm and an opportunity for you to explore the street food market for lunch 12:30-2pm on both days.
For the second time the conference will be hosted at the stunning Mercato Mayfair, a sustainable food market set up by Mercato Metropolitano (MM) in 2019 in the regenerated Mayfair St. Mark’s Church (pictured below).
