The British Library Food Season are in the 6th year of their highly popular talks on food, all inspired by their extensive food-related collections.  Many of the events feature prominent women in the food industry. The events started in  April and run until early June 2024. We highlight some of our favourites of over “the BIG Weekend” – a two-day celebration of food through words, sounds, cultures, ideas and tastings running 25th and 26th May 2024.

We have a whole week’s worth of events for International Women’s Day. You’ll discover a whole range of demos, debates, networking, tastings & lunchtime talks to celebrate the day’s theme of #EachForEqual. The week should be wonderful opportunity to enjoy a debates with many inspiring women in the food industry.

On International Women’s Day, 8th March 2019, Mecca Ibrahim FRSA, co-founder of Women in The Food Industry, gave a talk at the Royal Society of Arts – RSA,  exploring issues common to women working in the field of food, from professional restaurants, hospitality, food, drink, farming, food journalism and blogging, right through to food photography. Celebrating Black History Month – Women in the Food Industry Panel & Mini Food Fair – 7th October 2024. Women in the Food Industry are bringing you an insightful panel event, with a showcase of snacks, & soft drinks from black female food founders. You will meet an inspirational panel of women who are leveraging their food businesses to celebrate the heritage of black people & you’ll also discover the challenges they faced as black women in the food industry and how they overcame them.
